Mme Mofokeng, Led A Departmental Team To Pay Their Last Respect As MEC Lehari Lays His Mother, Mme Mampedi Sinah Lehari, To Rest With Dignity

North West Community Safety and Transport Management Head of Department, Ms Botlhale Mofokeng and Section 100 (1) (b) Administrator, Mr Mathabatha Mokonyama led a departmental team visiting bereaved MEC Lehari's home at Moeka village, in the Moretele Local Municipality. The visit came after the sadly announcement of the demise of Mrs Mampedi Sinah Lehari, the mother to MEC Lehari.

"It is with deepest sympathy to learn of the passing on of Ms MAMPEDI SINAH LEHARI on the 17 October 2019. The deceased is the mother to our Honourable MEC Jonas Sello Lehari. Coincidentally MEC Lehari in his closing remarks at the recent three days departmental strategic planning session reflected on how his mother brought him up and decided what career to follow when he completed matriculation. Surely, even at an elderly age when a person cries, it's their mothers name they shout out, not their fathers. Mothers are the worlds treasure, important pillars of the families and confidantes to many a children". Remarked Mr Mokonyama
"I could have been a police officer, I love the job, but my mother hid a letter from the police department inviting me for training. She, however, encouraged me to enrol at the Moretele teachers college, where I graduated with a teachers qualification. I am what I am because she decided for me and for that I am eternally grateful and indebted to her". My mother is over seventy years and is not well". Reflected MEC Lehari at the strategic planning session.
Little did MEC Lehari know that that same evening he will receive devastating news of the passing on of her beloved mother. These sad news shocked the department, villagers, the church community, ANC comrades and close relatives of MEC Lahari.

We sincerely wish to convey our heartfelt condolences as the department of Community Safety and Transport Management, to the bereaved family in their time of sorrow”. May her soul rest in peace”. Remarked HoD Mofokeng.

The cortege of Mme Mampedi Lehari's left house at Number E640 Zone 2 at Moeka Village at 6h30 for Uniting Reformed Church at Ga - Motle Village were her funeral was held from 07h00 on the 02nd November 2019.

Throngs of dignitaries came by to visit the mourning MEC Lehari and or bid farewell to her mother during the burial on Saturday too. Deputy Minister Obed Bapela, former ANCYL President Maine, North West Premier Mokgoro, Former MPL and North West Speaker, Mr Nono Maloyi, former and fellow MEC's and Members of the Provincial Legislature in the North West, Mayors of Moretele and Rustenburg MMC's and Councillors, North West SAPS leadership, CPF and SANTACO Provincial Chairpersons.

ANC members, SANCO leadership, sports personalities, North West Education and Community Safety and Transport Management Department officials, SADTU leadership, Uniting Reformed Church ministers and members as well as Zion Christian Church leaders and members filed the Lehari home, Moeka streets, church and cemetery precinct.

Moretele communities of Vuma, Ga-Motle and Moeka village in particular shared fond memories of Mme Lehari. They too evidently had lost a mother and a community activist who they will dearly miss.

May the soul of this devout Christian indeed rest in peace.
